Abstract

1,152,130. Delivering sheets. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORP. 9 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 51134/67. Heading B8R. [Also in Division G2] An original sheet 2 and a superimposed copy sheet 3 are stripped from the exposure drum 9 of a copying machine by plates 18 and fed by belts 13 and 53 to the passage between vacuum chambers 37 and 38, provided with apertured walls 39 and 40, where the sheets 2 and 3 are separated. Chambers 37 and 38 are provided with corrugated baffles 62 and 63 such that air drawn in through walls 39 and 40 is forced to travel in a direction opposed to that of sheet movement. A plurality of adjacent belts 13 may be provided, with the apertures in wall 39 being between adjacent belts (Fig. 5, not shown) and a plurality of adjacent belts 53 may overlie the apertures in wall 40 (Fig. 3, not shown). Members 70 may be provided to block off the air flow through selected apertures to deal with various sheet widths. The ratio of pressures in chambers 37 and 38 may be varied. Stripper 10 comprises a series of laterally adjacent plastic plates 18 (and Fig. 7) pivotally mounted on shaft 16 and spring- urged into engagement with the surface of drum 9.
