Abstract

1,150,784. Sliding clasp fasteners. H. F. E. CIRKET. 31 Oct., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 44899/66. Heading E2S. The closure strip assembly of a sliding clasp fastener consists of one member 10 with a longitudinal rib 12 and a mating member 11 with a longitudinal groove 13, the rib and groove being such that the interengaging surfaces 12a-13a on one side of the rib and groove formation are longer than the corresponding surfaces 12b-13b on the other side. Grooves 15 on the outer surfaces of both members are engaged by the slider 18 (Figs. 2 to 4, not shown). This slider includes wheels which run in the grooves 15 and has provision for adjusting the width of the gap between the wheels, so that the same slider can be used with different sizes of strip assembly.
