Abstract

1,114,836. Sliding clasp fasteners. OPTIHOLDING AG. 2 June, 1965 [30 Sept., 1964], No. 23570/65. Heading E2S. A semi-finished sliding clasp fastener comprises interlocked fastener strips 1, 2 with a plurality of top and bottom end stops 3, 4 and 5 disposed along the length of the strips, the top stops 3, 4 being each provided with blocking means 8, 9, over which top stop blocking means a slider 7 can be passed without permanent deformation of the slider and/or the means during its mounting on the strips, but which blocking means 8, 9 are so inclined in accordance with the apperture angle of the upwardly opening side walls of a slider adapted to be mounted on the strips that when the slide is blocked by the top stop at the end of its movement towards the top stop, the means 8, 9 abut flat against the interior surfaces of the inclined walls of the slider. The blocking means 8, 9 are in the form of upstanding members and at least the top stop is formed of a thermoplastics material. In another arrangement, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) the blocking means is formed by grooves provided with terminal portions (11) against which the slider is adapted to abut. The sliders are applied to the strips after cutting between adjacent top and bottom stops.
