Fig. 5 illustrates a pair of pivoted jaws j mounted on scissors members Sc, the distance apart of which is adjustable by a slidable member c. Fig. 6 shows a construction in which the members Sc are pivoted to opposite ends of a link C1 Two sets of jaws facing in opposite directions may be provided to retain an object against movement in either direction, Fig. 8 (not shown).
