Abstract
A clamping spacer for gripping and spacing-apart a pair of electrical conductors consists of a plastics strut 10 having a cable-clamp at each end comprising a fixed jaw 12 and a movable jaw 13 which is hinged at 27, 47 and as shown, in Fig. 1, is held in the gripping position by a plastics securing ring 60. The cable is secured within space 14 in a rubber bush 16. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the jaws are fastened by the lateral insertion of a key-pin 82 into bore 80. In a further modification (Figs. 8 and 9, not shown) the key-pin may lie in the same plane as the strut but run obliquely to it. The several components of the clamp may be interconnected by thin strips of plastics material to form a single dismantleable unit whose parts cannot be lost.
