Abstract

1,143,194. Boring earth &c. CARRIERES ET ATELIERS STENUICK FRERES S.p.r.L. 22 Feb., 1966 [7 Oct., 1965], No. 7615/66. Heading E1F. In an apparatus for simultaneously boring and lining a hole a bit 9 is asymmetric about its rotational axis and is attached to a percussion unit 8 supported by a rotating shaft. A lining 13 has outer and inner diameters such that it can be rotatably lowered into the hole drilled by the bit and such that the bit can be withdrawn along the inside of the lining. Projections 13<SP>1</SP> on the lining act as guides for unit to centre the bit during drilling. Winches and cables are provided for removing the bit and/or lining.
