Abstract

1,140,855. Detergent compositions. DIVERSEY Ltd. 20 July, 1966 [20 July, 1965], No. 32658/66. Heading C5D. [Also in Division C7] A detergent solution comprises (% by weight) 1 to 10 HC1, 1 to 8 HNO 3 , 0 to 60 phosphoric acid, and 0À2 to 15 surfactant. The surfactant may be as described in Specifications 889,571 or 1,140,856. In an example, a steel sheet is first degreased in a bath consisting of (% by weight) sodium hydroxide 50, sodium carbonate 47, sodium oleate 3, rinsed with water, immersed in an oxidizing solution consisting of (% by weight) sodium hydroxide 7.9, potassium permanganate 3À2, sodium carbonate 0À7, and water 88À2, rinsed with water and then immersed in a neutralizing solution consisting of (% by weight) phosphoric acid 5, xylene sulphonic acid 5, octyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol 5, sodium dodecyl diphenyl ether disulphonate 2, and water 83.
