[Also in Division F2] A rotatable tool, e.g. a spanner or screwdriver, for use with a fastener 10, see Division F2, comprises a mateable portion 42, 44, through which the axis of rotation passes, formed with two pairs of axially extending abutment surfaces 54, 58 and 52, 56, the surfaces of each pair lying in the same plane and facing in the same rotational direction, the planes intersecting along a line on opposite sides of which the abutment surfaces of each pair lie, and the pairs facing in opposite rotational directions. In the figure, the axis of rotation is coincident with the line of intersection, and the mateable portion is formed by recesses 42, 44 connected by a throat 46. Figs. 9 and 10, not shown, illustrate a box spanner (70) having a mateable portion extending from one end with abutment faces (80), (82), and (84), (86) on projections (74) and (76). In Figs. 13 and 14, not shown, a screwdriver has projections (374) and (376) with faces (380), (382) and (384), (386), projecting from one end of the shank. A spanner, similar to that in Fig. 4, is illustrated in Fig. 11, not shown, but the recesses are connected by a section having arcuate faces (94) centred on the axis of rotation. The embodiment of Figs. 17 and 18, not shown, comprises a spanner having projections (747) and (748) which extend axially on each side of the shank with inclined end faces (747), (749), and are formed with abutment faces (752), (756) and (754), (758). In Fig. 12, not shown, a spanner for use with a fastener 10 has a forked end with two abutment faces (280) and (282).
