When each of a plurality of input hoppers contains cards, a card is fed from the first hopper to a sensing device associated therewith, and after sensing of its information holes, a special hole in the card is detected by a card lever, photo-cell or the like and causes a card to be fed from the second hopper to an associated sensing device, detection of a special hole in this card causing a card to be fed from a third hopper to its associated sensing device.
