[Also in Division G4] An arrangements for obtaining goods or services to be charged to an account, in which an identity or credit card bearing a punched code number is inserted in validating apparatus and the code number entered manually on a keyboard, is characterized in that one or more identity or credit cards may be prevented from operating the apparatus by connecting diodes between the sensing means unactivated by a particular card and a transistor 19 so that a pulse F4 is generated for cards to be excluded. Each card includes one or more dummy holes 20 so that the total number of holes in each card is the same. Photo-electric cells sensing the punched cards and the push buttons of the keyboard are connected in circuit with a Wheatstone bridge generating an error signal if the code number on the card and the code number entered manually do not agree.
