1,134,958. Method of improving the unwinding ability of copolyamide yarn. KANEGAFUCHI BOSEKI K.K., and SNIA VISCOSA SOC. NAZIONALE INDUSTRIA APPLICAZIONI VISCOSA S.p.A. 6 April, 1967 [18 April, 1966], No. 15881/67. Heading B5B. A copolyamide filament is coated with a finishing agent consisting essentially of an aqueous emulsion of partially oxidized polyethylene, the coating being applied after melt spinning the filament and before it is taken up on a winding bobbin. The finishing agent may also be applied to a composite filament wherein one component is a oopolyamide and the other is another polyamide. A conventional oiling agent may be mixed into the emulsion of the finishing agent, or may be applied separately. The treatment improves the unwinding ability of a package of copolyamide yarn.
