[Also in Division F1] In a burner arrangement for a gas-turbine engine a fuel atomizer 10 includes a nozzle 12 with a converging inlet section 16, a cylindrical stabilizing section 18 and a diverging outlet 20 through which a supersonic air stream emerges, liquid fuel being fed into the stream via passages 44 and orifices 26, (28) perpendicular to the direction of flow and a resonator 24 with cavity 22 into which the stream is directed is fixed to the nozzle member. Sonic pressure waves whose magnitude is increased by resonance are developed.
