Abstract
1,129,058. Handles. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 21 Feb., 1967, No. 8093/67. Heading A4U. In a window winder handle, comprising an arm 11 mounted in a car door for rotation about an axis 12 by a spindle 15 which has driving connection with a vertically sliding window, a rubber &c. knob 17 is bonded to a metal plate 19 which is integral with a spindle 18 rotatably mounted in an aperture at the end of the arm remote from the axis 12. A circlip 21 retains the inner end of the spindle 18 in a recess 22 and no sharp projections are exposed if the handle is deflected or the knob torn away from the plate in a car crash.
