Abstract

1,122,310. Tool spindle. INSTITUT FUR WERKZEUGMASCHINEN. 5 Jan., 1967, No. 662/67. Heading B3B. A tool spindle 1 having a socket for a tool shank 2 has two radially movable spring-loaded clamping members 7 each of which has two teeth with inclined faces, one arranged to engage a chamfered face of a disc 4 connected to the tool shank 2 to clamp the shank in the socket and the other adapted to be engaged by the forward end of a push-rod 14, forward movement of which forces the members 7 outwards to release the tool and then through contact with the disc 4 ejects the tool. The push-rod may be hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically operated or mechanically operated by a stop arranged in the path of the spindle.
