Abstract

1,121,612. Electric storage space heaters. J. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 8 Oct., 1965 [25 Aug., 1964], No. 34673/64. Heading F4U. In space heaters of the kind in which hot air which has been heated in passages of the storage blocks 12 is mixed with cold air which by-passes the blocks and is controlled by a thermostatic valve 15, the hot air passes through a number of tubular members 17 extending across the path of the cold air issuing from the valve each tube being open for the escape of heated air on its side remote from the valve. A fan 16 draws in air part of which flows through the storage block and part passes through the valve 15 which comprises slotted plates one of which is movable by a bi-metallic element extending into the heat storage material 12. Each tubular member 17 is cut away slantwise on its side remote from the valve to define an opening for the discharge of heated air, the remaining portion of the tubular element being smaller at the end remote from its inlet end.
