Abstract

1,109,789. Vehicle lamps. WIPAC DEVELOPMENT Ltd. 29 March, 1967 [6 April, 1966], No.15295/66. Heading F4R. A vehicle lamp comprises a reflector 17, a bulb-holding and screening unit 11 which holds the bulb with the filament at the focus of the reflector and is open to the main body 19 of the lamp to permit free circulation of air for cooling, and means for fastening the unit 11 in position. The screening unit consists of two wings 21 parallel to one another and having locating lugs for the flange 14 of the bulb 20, and an extension 12 for screening the bulb, which is arranged with its longitudinal axis parallel to the axis of the unit 11. The end of the unit 11 opposite to the extension 12 is provided with lugs which engage in a slot 16 in the reflector 17, a stainless steel strip 18 being provided to hold the unit in place and to provide an earth return from the lamp to the body 19.
