Abstract
1,108,825. Gas turbine plant; power plant. SULZER BROS. Ltd. Feb. 6, 1967 [Dec. 28, 1966], No.5660/67. Addition to 1, 085, 425. Headings F1G and F1Q. In a modification of the mixed gas/steam turbine plant described and claimed in Specification 1, 085, 425, a second combustion chamber 40 is provided connected in parallel with the steam generator combustion chamber 6 and having an air inlet downstream of the compressor 2, 3 and a gas outlet 44 upstream of the mixed gas/steam turbine 1. Valves 42, 43 control the air supply to the combustion chambers 40, 6 respectively. The injection point 21 supplied with steam from the exhaust of the steam turbine 18 may alternatively, be provided in the combustion chamber 40 or downstream of it. The chamber 40 enables quick starting of the plant from cold. The plant also differs from the parent in the position of the feedwater pre-heater 30.
