Abstract

1,107,676. Batch misers; tube mills. H. KUBODERA. 16 Aug., 1966 [24 Aug., 1965], No. 36530/66. Headings B1C and B2A. An end-over-end mixer has an elongated container mounted for rotation about a horizontal shaft 2, 3 or 302, 303 through its midpoint, and having a vane wheel 18, 318 rotatable about its longitudinal axis. The container may be of zig-zag shape, Fig. 1, with detachable end portions 4, 5 or straight and of circular or prismatic cross-section, Fig. 5; a straight container may be mounted transversely to the axis of rotation as shown, or obliquely (see Fig. 3, not shown). The vane wheel may be driven through bevel gearing as shown or through a universal joint (see Fig. 6, not shown) and its drive shaft may pass through the shaft 3 or be driven therefrom by gearing (see also Fig. 3, not shown) which may be of adjustable ratio. The container may have ring or crescent-shaped interior ridges (D, E, F, G, Figs. 7-10 not shown) on one or both sides of the vane wheel to protect the vane tips from wear. The apparatus may also be used for autogenous grinding, washing granular material and extracting. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,005,151.
