Abstract
1,168,365. Building material mixers; edgerunner mills. SCHLOSSER & CO. G.m.b.H. 22 Nov., 1967 [28 Nov., 1966], No. 53140/67. Headings B1C and B2A. Mixing. A pen-type apparatus for mixing a mortar has a mixing head 6 rotatable about the axis of the pen and carrying a plurality of counter-rotating rakes or beaters 20; four detachable and angularly adjustable mixing tools 9, 10, 18, 19 attached to beams 15 rotatable about a vertical axis 11; two radially adjustable shovels 22 caused on a transverse beam 23; and at least one scraper 24. The beaters 20 comprise two or more exchangeable depending bars of angular or corrugated cross-section (see Figs. 3 or 4, not shown), the speeds of the beater-driving motors 21 being adjustable. The apparatus may be fed by a batch-weigher 28 and hopper 27. In the manufacture of a sand-lime mortar the sand and slaked lime are first dry mixed with the beaters 20 operating at a peripheral speed of 6 m/sec., and thereafter water is added and the speed of the beaters reduced to half. The mixing tools may be inoperative during the dry mixing and the addition of water may be controlled by hygrometer electrodes provided in the beating or mixing tools. There is a molarised central discharge door 26. Grinding. Two of the mixing tools 9, 10 or 18, 19 may be replaced by edge-rollers.
