Abstract

1,033,733. Powder mixers. APEX CONSTRUCTION Ltd. & W. C. PECK. March25,1963 [March 26, 1962], No. 11455/62. Heading B1C. A Y-shaped mixing vessel 1 rotatable about a horizontal axis and having intercommunicating cylindrical or Frusto-conical portions 2, 3, 4 whose axes are in a common plane inclined to the rotational axis comprises an agitator including a bar 13 to which agitatory elements are secured. The bar is driven at a different speed in the same direction or at the same or a different speed in the opposite direction as the vessel 1. The agitating elements may comprise inclined discs (Fig. 1) or pins 15 inclined to the bar axis or extending rapidly (Fig. 5 not shown), or axial rods 18 (Fig. 7 not shown) or cutter blades (Fig. 8 not shown) attached around the circumference of plates 17.
