A clutch release sleeve 11 is operated by a lever 13 pivoted at its outer end 16 to the interior of the clutch housing 14 and engaged by an hydraulic piston 18 acting parallel to the clutch axis. The lever 13 is loaded by a leaf spring 21 to prevent vibration and to retract the piston 18 upon pressure release. The pivot 16 is movable axially by a screw 15 to adjust the working clearance a of the sleeve 11. In order to assist dismantling the lever 13, screw 15 and piston unit 18, 20 may be mounted on a portion 23 of the housing readily removable from the main housing 14.
