Abstract
1,101,891. Supply systems for consumption apparatus. ETABLISSEMENTS GERARD MANG. 15 March, 1965 [17 March, 1964], No. 10852/65. Heading H2H. [Also in Division H3] An electronic time-switch comprises a bistable relay RP, initially energized so as to close a circuit to a load and to a timer comprising a capacitor, the load circuit remaining closed until the capacitor has charged sufficiently to break down a gas-filled discharge tube when an auxiliary relay becomes energized so as to re-energize the bi-stable relay and open the load contacts. As shown, bi-stable relay RP is initially energized by closing pushbutton BP so the load circuit U is energized from A.C. mains D 1 via contacts RP 1 . Capacitor C now charges via rectifier S and resistors P, R I until a neon discharge tube L breaks down, when an auxiliary relay RX becomes energized, re-energizing the bi-stable relay RP so as to open the load contacts RP 1 and close contacts RP 2 which discharge the capacitor C. Contacts RP 4 are open during the timing period so that the timing is unaffected by further operations of BP. In Fig. 4 (not shown), the contacts are arranged so that subsequent depression of the push-button during a timing period will discharge capacitor C and initiate a further period of the predetermined time. In Fig. 1 (not shown), an auxiliary switch is provided, closure of which enables the load to be energized by the first operation of the pushbutton and de-energized by the second operation. The invention is applicable to control of lighting on staircases.
