Abstract

1,101,355. Mine face conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 23 April, 1965 [30 April, 1964], No. 18047/64. Heading B8A. An anchoring arrangement for the delivery end of a mine face conveyer 14 extends only to the conveyer's goaf side thus leaving free the face side for the passage of a mining machine. The arrangement includes an anchor beam 5 and a feeder conveyer 8 secured to the face conveyer 14. The conveyer 8 also constitutes an anchor beam and is straddled by a skid-mounted base 7 for an hydraulic chock 2. The beam 5 extends through a base 4 for supporting a chock 1, and a third chock 3 is mounted on a box framework 13 to which a pair of bridge plates 15, 16 are secured. These plates also rigidly secure together the conveyers 8, 14. Doubleacting rams 6, 10, 11 move the conveyer 14 and the chock units 1, 2 relative to one another. Hydraulic motors 19, 20 drive the conveyer and the mining machine respectively.
