Abstract

1,100,518. Anchors. G. E. DIAL. 1 Dec., 1966 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 51996/66. Heading B7S. An anchor comprises a main plate shaped to V-formation about a longitudinal axis so as to define two side-plates 1, 2 which define a fluke at each end of said longitudinal axis (a sharp fluke 3 at one end and a blunt fluke at the other) and a shank 7 pivotally mounted (at 6) between, the side-plates to pivot in a plane bisecting said V-formation, the pivotal range of the shaft being limited to an acute angle one limit of which permits the shank to extend substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis. One of the side plates has an edge 5 bent outwardly (as in Fig. 1), or inwardly. The shank has an elongated aperture permitting a shackle 9 to slide to settings on either side of the pivotal axis 6, the aperture being formed by a slide-bar 8 secured at its ends to the shank 7.
