Abstract
1,099,961. Cutting tools. MARWIN (ANSTEY) Ltd. June 13, 1966 [March 24, 1965), No. 12379/65. Heading B3B. A cutting tool comprises a holder 1 and a disposable tip 6 which has a central aperture for mounting over a peg 3 secured to the holder 1, the tip being held in place by a clamping piece 2 in the form of a nut which loosely engages a thread stem 4. The stem has threads of opposite hand at each end, one end engaging in the holder body and the other engaging the nut with considerable clearance. Tightening the stem by means of a key draws the nut 2 into abutment with the holder body causing the nut to engage one side of the cutter tip and cant slightly to effect a wedging engagement between a shoulder 7 on the holder and the tip and thus urge the tip against the peg 3 to effect clamping of the tip to the holder.
