Abstract

1,099,197. Invalid chairs. J. BUNYAN. Dec. 16, 1966 [Oct. 4, 1965], No. 41956/65. Heading B7B. The back rest 10 of an invalid chair is pivotally mounted at 9 on the supporting framework and carries on pivots 11 the seat 12 to which the leg rests are pivotally mounted at 13. Links 16 and 19 connect extensions of the back and foot rest so that when the struts 23 are removed from their sockets 25 the back, seat and leg rests may be moved to a horizontal position to serve as a stretcher. The arm rests 26 pivotally mounted at 26a are retained in the horizontal position by pins 26b engaging recesses 27 thereby allowing them to be rotated clockwise to a vertical ground engaging position assisting the struts 23 in stabilizing the stretcher.
