Abstract

1,095,947. Boots &c. J. W. FAIR. June 1, 1966 [June 18, 1965], No. 24341/66. Heading A3B. A guard 10 for attachment to a boot to protect the foot against injury from falling -objects consists of a rigid shell 24 which is supported resiliently and in spaced rerelation to a boot 12 and the ground so that the shell 24 can move downwardly under an impact to transmit the impact force directly to the ground. The shell 24 is supported by a plastics strap 78 and transverse elastic straps 60, 66 and is held in position on the boot by a flexible strap 50 extending under the boot and an elastic strap 42 extending around the heel of the boot.
