Abstract

1,094,495. Comminuting machine. K. SCHNELL, [trading as KARL SCHNELL MASCHINENFABRIK]. March 4, 1966 [March 11, 1965], No. 9560/66. Heading A4C. Meat, bread or other material to be comminuted is fed through inlet 11 into hopper 5 in which it is mixed by agitator 10 and subjected to a pre-comminution cutting by one or more tools 13 comprising cuting blades preferably rotating in an open-ended cylindrical casing 14 terminating at a distnce 15 from the hopper wall 16. The coarse-cut product is then fed via flap-valve 18 to a fine-comminuting machine 1 comprising knives 3 rotating against perforated plate 2. The agitator 10 and its associated driving mechanism is mounted on a hinged lid 6 and the whole apparatus may be hermetically sealed and evacuated to allow of air-free operation.
