Abstract

1,092,842. Desks combined with cabinets. GLOBE WERNICKE CO. June 2, 1965 [Aug. 4, 1964], No. 23521/65. Heading A4H. A cabinet 12 with a drawer 22 is suspended on rollers 14, 17 engaging tracks 15, 18 on the underside of a desk top 2 for movement from a storage position at one end of the desk to a position of use in the knee space 11 and carries a pivoted latch 25 which releasably secures the cabinet 12 in the knee space when the drawer 22 is pulled out. An upper limb 27 of the latch 25 is biased by a spring 33 into an opening 31 in the desk top frame 32. When the drawer 22 is pushed in its rear wall 29 engages a slot 30 in the latch 25 to pivot the latter and withdraws the limb 27 from the opening 31. Stops (19) are provided at the track ends. The desk has a fixed cabinet 3 at one end and a rear extension (7, 8 - Fig. 1) at the other end to form an L-shaped top.
