Abstract

1,087,509. Locks. LOWE & FLETCHER Ltd. June 30, 1966, No. 29356/66. Heading E2A. A lock comprises a plurality of pivoted tumblers 17 displaceable by a key and a metallic U shaped spring element 19 common to all the tumblers acting between part of the body of the lock and the tumblers and having one limb formed with a plurality of resilient fingers each of which bears against a respective tumbler to bias the tumblers to bolt locking condition. The slidable bolt 12 extends from a latch plate which slides on the inner surface of the rear plate of the body of the lock and has an abutment 16 which the tumblers engage. Turning the key turns the tumblers clockwise out of engagement with the abutment 16 and then displaces the bolt, the tumblers then reengage the abutment 16.
