Abstract

1284801 Locks KEYSTONE CONSOLIDATED INDUSTRIES Inc 23 Feb 1970 8628/70 Heading E2A A tumbler lock, having a sliding bolt with a lug which is engageable in notches 17a in a series of pivoted tumblers 16a when a key is turned to align the notches, has a resilient block 28 secured to a lock housing 11, the block engages an end surface of tails 26 on the tumblers and exerts a force opposing pivoting of the elements. Alternatively the tails extend in the opposite direction and the resilient block engages an inner surface of each tail. As shown in Fig. 6, a cylinder lock has sliding tumblers 37 which have lateral extensions 39 which engage one end of the resilient block 44 secured in a slot in a plug 31. If the cylinder lock has pin tumblers the resilient block fits into a slot in the lock housing and urges the drivers and pin tumblers into the keyway of the rotary plug.
