Abstract

1,085,099. Conveyers for mines. DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd. Nov. 25, 1965 [Dee. 10, 1964], No. 50343/64. Heading B8A. [Also in Division E1] A drive mechanism 16. for a face conveyer 5 and a haulage mechanism 6, 7 for a cutting machine 10 are carried by a body 3 of an anchor station. The body 3. is supported by two. floor beams 8, 9 which have fluid operated extensible props 11,12 carrying roof beams 13, 14 and a roof bar 15. A third floor beam 17 carries props 18 and a slidable element 21 which is pivotally connected, by means 22, to the floor beam 9. A steering jack 23. also connects the element 21 and.the beam 9. An advancing jack (24), Fig. 2 (not shown), is pivotally connected between the floor beam 17 and the slidable element 21. A further floor beam 25 has props 26 and is connected to the floor beams 8, 17 by jacks 28, 29. for connecting the body 3 to the floor beam. 8, two upstanding projections (30) on the beam each has a convex surface (36), a portion of which carries an elongated spring element.(37), Figs.. 3, 4 (not shown). These are bolted to the floor beam 8 and to the body 3 which is provided with depending walls (41) to limit movement of the body transverse to the beam 8. The face conveyer 5 feeds a roadway conveyer 35. Operation.-The props 26 are released, the floor beam 25 is advanced by extending the jacks 28, 29 and the props are reset. The floor beam 17 is then advanced by means of jack (24) and finally the floor beams 8, 9 supporting the body 3 are advanced by contraction of jack (24) and jack 28. On an uneven floor the spring elements (37) permit tilting movement of the body 3 and beam 8.
