1,082,799. End anchorages for prestressed concrete structures. PRESCON CORPORATION. July 14, 1965, No. 29943/65. Heading E1W. Post-tensioned floor slabs 20, or other concrete structures, are provided with end anchorages comprising either parallel plates, 26, as shown, or cylindrical or frusto-conical tubular members, with outwardly-directed, transverse V-sectioned corrugations 27. The parallel plates illustrated are bolted together about the tension elements 21 before the concrete is cast, and have inwardly-directed ribs 32. The anchor plate 24 is held from the reinforced end faces 35 of the plates 26 by shims 33. The tubular anchorages may be rectangular (Figs. 9, 10, 12, not shown), or annular (Figs. 3-6, not shown) in cross-section, when they are used with anchor plates and shims, or frusto-conical, (Figs. 7, 8, not shown), in which case frustoconical wedges 51 are employed. Either the frusto-conical anchorages or the wedges may have longitudinal grooves 55 therein, and the wedges 51 may have transverse serrations. The rectangular anchorages may have transverse reinforcing webs 71 (Fig. 9, not shown), against which the shims bear, and all of the tubular anchorages have annular recesses in their inner ends to accommodate the ends of the prestressing ducts.
