Abstract
1,133,498. End anchorages for prestressed concrete. M. R. ROS. 8 July, 1966, No. 30897/ 66. Heading E1W. The load on an end anchorage in a moulded prestressed concrete construction is transmitted to the concrete by steel piles 8 arranged in parallel with, or at a slight angle to, the axis of the tensioning means 1. As shown, wires having upset heads are supported in a perforated anchor block 6 which is supported in turn, in the mould or steel beams 7 having the piles 8 secured thereto. The wires pass through a sheath 3 with end flanges, and end slots 4 (Fig. 1, not shown) through which the beams 7 pass. External helical reinforcement 10 is also used around the end anchorage. The block may be of trapezoidal section, as shown, or of rectangular section, when steel spacer blocks 13 (Fig. 5, not shown) are employed, or may be circular in plan with a threaded or a flanged periphery (Fig. 8, not shown), the beams being replaced in the latter examples by rings 16a or 16b respectively.
