Abstract

1,070,757. Magnetic conveyer rollers. F. UNGERER. Oct. 7, 1964, No. 40979/64. Heading B8A. A conveyer roller 1, driven by means 2 retains and conveys or stacks sheet metal 3 by means of electromagnets 4 secured by a metallic heat-conducting connection 6 to a carrier 5 mounted at 7. The carrier 5 consists of two sections 5, 5 1 , Fig. 1 (not shown), welded together and has a central cooling duct 8. A matrix 5 2 is formed with cooling ducts 9 which surround the magnet coils. Air inlet and outlet ports 10 are provided for air circulation and serve for discharging any water of condensation. The parts may be inclined as at 15 for good circulation of air and air vanes (not shown) may also be provided. The roller barrel may have openings (not shown), for handling clean sheet metal.
