[Also in Division D2] Apparatus for producing paper and cardboard webs having seed and fertilizer incorporated therein comprises a rotatable cylinder 1 with a metal screen, an endless screen belt 8 arranged in an accurate path of at least 100 degrees around the cylinder, and driven by frictional engagement with end discs (22) driven by the cylinder, a roller 7 which may be a suction roll and is adjustably disposed to vary the distance between the cylinder and belt, and means to introduce the fibre material mixture between the cylinder and belt. The discs (22) are axially offset with respect to the cylinder shaft to provide a tapering channel and are driven thereby through a gear. Fibre mixture is introduced through two channels 12 and 13 on either side of a channel 14 through which the seed and fertilizer are introduced, thus enclosing the latter between two sheets.
