Buckle folding apparatus, including the usual feed rollers 9, 4, buckle folding rollers 4, 4 4 and a buckle folding plate having a pre-settable abutment 3, is provided with a further roller 5 which is attached to levers 6 mounted for pivotal movement on a shaft 8 and oscillated by a crank 7 from an inoperative position, disposed above the common tangent of roller 9 and the roller 4 remote from the roller 9, into an operative position, in which the roller 5 is adjacent the nip of roller 4, 4, so as to prevent excessive flopping movement of the sheets.
