Abstract

1,065,370. Securing containers on flat bases. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Dec. 21, 1965, No. 54029/65. Heading B7J. [Also in Division F2] A plastics container 1 for washer liquid, brake fluid or fuel has a pair of studs 9 surrounded by flanges 15 so that the studs may be pushed through a hole (13) in a panel (3), Fig. 2 (not shown), until the shoulders expand on the other side of the hole and with the flanges 15 grip the panel therebetween. In Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), a single hollow and tapered stud (21) which serves as a hose connector has a shoulder (23) and a flange (25) which cooperate with an integral projection (27) which engages in and seals a second hole in the panel and prevents rotation of the container. In Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), a groove in the container engages a tongue projection (39), (41), (43) from the panel. In Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), a wide diameter tapered part (55) having a bored projection (51) is D-shaped and engages non-rotatably in. a D-shaped hole in the panel. In Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown), the container makes a bayonet joint type of connection with the panel and tabs (77) extend downwardly from the panel to engage the part (71) to prevent rotation of the container.
