Abstract

1,063,766. Securing door handles on spindles. JOSIAH PARKES & SONS Ltd. Jan. 3, 1966 [Feb. 13, 1965], No. 6308/65. Heading F2U. A door handle 22 is secured on the end of a latch spindle 10 by a radial screw passing through the handle socket and whose end bears against a non-metallic plastic insert 18 on a bed 11 formed by removing a portion of the spindle corner, the outer surface of the insert 18 diverging from the axis towards the end of the spindle. As shown, the insert is of uniform thickness and the bed 11 is divergent, but the insert may be wedge-shaped. The insert may be made of nylon, hard rubber or " Delrin " (Trade Mark).
