Abstract
1,057,545. Automatic cop changing looms. "METAPIC" S.A. May 21, 1964 [Feb. 18, 1964], No. 21065/64. Heading D1E. In a multicolour loom a comb 54 which can actuate replacement of a pin in use is moved by constant stroke arms 7, 8 controlled by the dobby. The comb 54 moves in a horizontal direction so that a tooth lies over the rod, e.g. 51 corresponding to the weft in the active shuttle. The frame also carries tumblers 65 of which the one corresponding to the active shuttle registers with the armature 76 of an electromagnet 75. When the cop feeler detects depletion of an active shuttle the electromagnet tilts the corresponding tumbler. The upper arm of the tumbler is then able (either immediately or when the shuttle again becomes active to deflect a continuously moveable striker 76 into line with an abutment 61 on the frame 65 whereby the comb 54 depresses the appropriate rod to release a cop. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,015,191.
