Abstract
971,932. Knitting machines. FRANZ MORAT G.m.b.H. Oct. 8, 1962 [Oct. 7, 1961], No. 38052/62. Heading D1C. A circular knitting machine comprises thread changing means wherein the setting out of operation of a thread is effected by an upward movement of a guide 30 for the thread and the restoring of the thread to operation 13 effected by means of a looper 34 movable independently of the said guide. The guide 30 is attached to a bar 18 connected to an armature 17 so that as the armature rises against the action of a spring 26 the yarn is trapped by a shoulder 30c in an aperture 32. The looper 34 is attached to the bar 22 which lies concentrically with and inside the bar 18. The bar 22 is moved by means of an armature 16 and the bar 22 is turned about its longitudinal axis by a pin 23 which follows a cam surface 24. A trapper 35 and a knife 36 are provided (Fig. 2). The bars 18, 22 may be either electromagnetically or pneumatically operated.
