871,815. Knitting-machines. COURTAULDS Ltd. Dec. 11, 1959 [Dec. 12, 1958], No. 40146/58. Class 74 (2). Slack floats are formed, for pile raising, by maintaining the tension rod 10 for the warp to the front guide bar 11 depressed, when the needle bar 12 is at or below the position occupied during the underlap of the front guide bar. To this end, a rod 13 connects the needle bar and the tension rod, through an adjustable lostmotion connection comprising a stud 16 on the tension rod which slides in a longitudinal slot 15 in the connecting rod to a limit determined by a stop screw 17.
