Abstract

1,048,672. Dispensing packages. M. DIAMANT. June 26, 1963 [Aug. 14, 1962], No. 25364/63. Heading B8C. A dispensing pack comprises two webs, at least one of which is discontinuous, which enclose solids, liquids, or powders, e.g. tablets 3, between them in spaced compartments 2, and which are detachably secured to each other around the articles. In the pack illustrated each web comprises rectangular laminµ 4 ... , 5 ... each overlapping two laminµ of the opposing web and covering two compartments 2. The laminae have projecting tabs 9 or 9<SP>1</SP> at one end which may be gripped to pull the lamina from its two contacting ones and uncover the tablets 3. The pack may be of paper, cardboard, cloth, metal foil or plastics material, or of laminates of these materials, and the wrappers are secured between compartments by non- drying glue, welding, folding, or heat-sealing as appropriate. Each pack may be made broader so that more than one row of tablets is covered by a single wrapper. In a second embodiment each wrapper covers one compartment only and tabs are provided on alternate wrappers with gaps being left at junctions of wrappers where no tab is present. In a third embodiment one row of wrappers is formed as a continuous strip and the other row by rectangular laminµ each covering a single compartment and having a projecting tab. The tabs may be folded back upon the lamina of which they form part to produce a thickened lip, and the pack, when of strip form, can be rolled into a compact package.
