Abstract

1,045,735. Two-part couplings. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. July 24, 1963 [Aug. 3, 1962], No. 30034/62. Heading H2E. Each body member 3, 4, Fig. 1 (not shown) of a two-part electrical connector carries a contact element 5 with an inclined surface 5b, Fig. 2 (not shown), which, when the two parts are engaged, is maintained in contact with a corresponding surface of a mating element by the resilience of at least part of at least one of the body members. The contact element may have conical head, or a cylindrical head cut off by a plane inclined to its axis. The whole of each body member carrying the contact elements (3, 4) may be made of resilient insulating material, while a projection 6 and a recess 8 may form guide means to assist insertion of the plug part. Shackles 11 may engage lugs 10 to lock the two members 3, 4 together.
