Abstract

1,029,090. Two-part couplings. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. March 26, 1965 [Dec. 27, 1963], No. 51052/63. Heading H2E. A multipole electrical connector comprises a plug housing 12 carrying a plurality of detachable blade type plugs 14, and a socket housing 11 having a correponding number of sockets 13 into each of which a detachable insert 15 can be fitted, so that a plug can be omitted from the plug housing and the socket with which the detached plug would normally engage can be blocked by the insert with the result that the plug housing can only be engaged in one position with the correct socket housing. The insert is preferably moulded with a projection 16 to prevent inadvertent removal from the socket.
