Abstract

1,036,211. Drying tea. MARSHALL'S TEA MACHINERY CO. Ltd. May 8, 1964 [Feb. 8, 1963], No. 5157/63. Heading F4G. Tea is dried in a chamber 2, Fig. 1, on vertically spaced rows of perforated trays (not shown) to which chamber hot air from a stove 1 is supplied by a fan 6 through a main air duct 8 branched into a first duct controlled by a flap valve controlled by lever 9. A second duct 7 leads a portion of the hot air to an air chest 11, Fig. 3, below the upper flight of a perforated plate conveyer 14 which feeds the tea to the chamber 2. A flap valve 12, controls the air flow to the air chest, and the duct 7 may be formed below ground. A rotating adjustably mounted leaf spreader 17 is mounted above the conveyer 5, and temperature-sensing devices are mounted above the valve 12 and conveyer 14.
