Abstract

A high-pressure hose fitting comprises a nipple 2 inserted in the end of a hose pipe consisting of an inner tube 14, a braided reinforcement 15, and an outer sheath 16, an electrically insulating washer 18 around the nipple at the front end of the hosepipe, and a socket 1 with internal teeth 7 of the form of screw-threads, which are swaged on to the hose, a reduced diameter portion 6 of the socket being swaged into a recess 11 around the outside of the nipple and the socket and nipple being insulated from the braided reinforcement 15 by the washer 18. A domed head 13 in front of the nipple carries a capnut 4.
