Abstract
1,019,254. Hay-tedders. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Oct. 30, 1962 [Nov. 17, 1961], No. 19486/65. Divided out of 1,019,253. Heading A1F. A drum tedder includes at least one guide-member 100, 101, for the crop discharged by the drum 46, arranged at the rear of the machine to funnel the crop into a swath of a width less than that of the drum, the guide-member consisting of a group of rods 102-107 arranged fanwise, at least one of the rods making continuous contact with the ground. As shown, two rods 102, 103 are in continuous groundcontact and have bent-over ends resting on the ground. The remaining rods 104-107 appear straight in sideelevation but are rearwardlycurved in plan (Fig. 1). The tedder is towed by a tractor 77 through an angularly-adjustable drawbar 83, the drum 46 being driven by a telescopic shaft 96, a chain drive 92 and bevelgearing 47. The machine is mounted on casters 7 and the drum is partly surrounded by a hood 50.
