1,017,225. Road making machines. AVELING-BARFORD Ltd. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 7, 1963], No. 31147/63. Heading E1G. [Also in Division A1] A device for distributing stone chips or aggregate comprising a feed roller 16 with fins 17 which distributes material from a hopper 10 is provided with a number of pitmans 28 which are operated by cams 26 on a shaft 24 so that the lower ends move in orbits near the hopper mouth 13 the upper ends being slidable in holes in a bar 30. The effective opening of the mouth 13 may be adjusted by means of plates 34 operated by levers 35. The device may be attached to the front of a road roller and it may be driven by means of an hydraulic motor.
