Abstract

1,112,990. Mowing machines. KARL MORTL-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 6 April, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 15889/67. Heading A1F. Apparatus for cutting fodder plants comprises a number of fingers, 3, 32 attached to a carrier 2 adapted to be secured to a tractor or like machine, and a row of blades 10 disposed below and adjacent the fingers and mounted for reciprocating movement relative thereto, the length of the fingers being such that the forward ends thereof do not project beyond the forward ends of the blades or project by not more than two-thirds the effective length a of the blades. The blades 10 are fastened to a bar 11 and may all have the same length as shown or alternate blades may have effective length a and intermediate blades may be shorter. The fingers are fastened to the carrier in groups of two or three and may be stamped from sheet material.
